Easy Kite - Course

Get a complete Kitesurf course where you will learn to master this sport that combines the pleasure of gliding and the feeling of freedom. You will learn step by step how to get the wing out of the water, how to pilot it in low-traction spaces and how to master the security system by moving your feet. You will then gradually learn the diverse sailing and transitional techniques in the lagoon.

Activity details

Kitesurf courses are organized in 5 steps: welcome, setting up the equipment, practice, debriefing, and storing the equipment.

The 5 lessons should allow you to manage your equipment, get your wing to take off on land and then in the water, accurately pilot the wing, move in a certain direction, activate the emergency safety and folding system, body drag in the water, put your float on, move your wing with one hand, do water-starts, do sliding and/or gybing transitions (half-turns), and jump with or without turning (backloops and frontloops).

In general, 3 sessions allow you to sail in the high-traction area by launching the wing (edges down).

The 4th session allows you to acquire the technique of the capped edges with the wind, and to do transitions.

The 5th session completes the transitional techniques and prepares you for simple jumps and transitional jumps.

A 6th session will allow you to improve your transitional jumping techniques and will focus more on rotational jumps (backloop / frontloops).

Each person’s learning rhythm and sometimes the weather can significantly change the results of each session. The program is therefore designed based on an average learning pace observed by our instructors. Therefore, the things that you learn which we have presented to you here are not always acquired at the end of each session.

Additional information

• No age restriction for minors, but the minimum weight is 30kg. They must have permission from their parents and a medical certificate.
• You must have a medical certification that says you are allowed to do kitesurf
• FFV insurance license that can be got online
• December to June is the main wind period (15-25 knot trade winds, sometimes more).
• The winds are mainly easterly. Orientation of the spot: South (Wind orientation compared to the spot: side, side-on)
• No coral heads on the lagoon
• If lessons get canceled because of bad weather, you will be refunded for the canceled lessons.
• If the wind is too weak, your instructor might offer you a tow board session.
• Approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports N°97108ET0012 and affiliated with the French Federation of Free Flight N°99926

Map and Schedule

The kitesurf spot is located in the anse du Belley. From Sainte-Anne, take the dirt road 300 meters away from the police station located at the exit of the town if you go to Saint-François. The road is located on your right when you pass the Tartare restaurant.
