Speed boat to Petite Terre – Fresh fish meal

The primary objective of this excursion to Petite Terre is to make you have an unforgettable day. In order to achieve this, our crew is there for you to answer your questions and share their knowledge of the wildlife, the plants, and the cultural differences of the island. The quality of the produce of the 5-star meal (consisting only of fresh produce cooked on the spot) sets this excursion apart from the others.

Activity details

Come and discover the rich fauna and flora islands of Petite Terre, classified as a nature reserve since September 1998.

You will be able to meet West Indian iguanas, hermit crabs, migratory birds, baby lemon sharks, a wide variety of fish, and with a little bit of luck, turtles, rays, or even dolphins.

Fins, masks, and snorkels are provided on the boat to go and discover the underwater world.

You will be able to walk around the lighthouse, locally called the “lighthouse at the end of the world” through a marked path full of information, where the iguanas await you on volcanic rocks.

Meet up at 8:00 at the port for a sea crossing that takes about 40 minutes.

The meal will be served by your captain on the beach, under the shade of the palm trees. This 5-star meal consists of:

• Starters: ceviche (fresh, lime-marinated fish tartar) and salad.
• Main course: fresh, fish fillet (without bones) marinated in olive oil and cooked on the spot, with sauce chien (dog sauce) and creole rice or tabbouleh
• Dessert: flambéed bananas in rum

Additional information

• This activity is inappropriate for pregnant women and people with health problems (in this case, choose the excursion to l'Ilet Caret or go to Petite Terre on Catamaran  It is important to know that between January and March, the trade winds make the sea moderately rough (4-5 beaufort winds and swells and possibly sea sprays). That is why ICIGO discourages children under the age of 8 to do this between December and April unless the conditions are favorable.

• Meet up at the Saint-François marina at 7:30
• Set off to Petite Terre at 7:45, going along the peninsula of La Pointe des Châteaux
• Arrival at Petite Terre at around 8:30
• Stroll on the island (marked path and mini-museum at the lighthouse)
• Aperitif and meal
• Snorkeling, farniente, siesta, ...
• Return to Saint-François at around 17:00

Boarding at St-François is done at the dock opposite the Quai 17 restaurant.
