Marie Galante - GWT

The primary objective of this excursion to Marie Galante is to make you have an unforgettable day. In order to achieve this, it offers a guided tour of Marie-Galante, a 5-star meal (exclusively with fresh produce cooked on the spot) on a beach in the shade under a hut, boat rides, and a lot of swims in the island’s most beautiful creeks.

Activity details

The activity starts at Saint-François with a departure at 7:45. We advise you to be at the boarding point 20 to 30 minutes before the departure.

The tour starts as soon as you set sail. All of our skippers are trained to answer your questions and share their knowledge of Guadeloupe, its shores, and its sea beds.

After a crossing that takes about 45 minutes to an hour, you will get off at the St-Louis harbor, on Marie-Galante.

You will be offered a bus tour with a local guide which will make you discover the main attractions of the “island of 100 windmills.” The tour of the island includes the visits of the following locations:

• Grand bourg for the market;
• The Murat Habitation;
• Distillery (guided tour with free rum tasting);
• Sucre de batterie (concentrated sugar cane juice) maker;
• Bézard windmill;
• Gueule grand gouffre;
• There will be other stops along the way to allow your guide to tell you Marie-Galante’s history.

An aperitif (sodas, fruit juice, ti-punch, and planteur) followed by a grilled fish bbq and cooked dishes will be served on the beach in the shade provided by a carbet ( a hut style). Fresh produce and “home-made” dishes are on the menu for this meal (served with bread and wine):

• Started: ceviche (fresh fish tartar marinated in limes) and salad.
• Main course: fresh fish fillet (without bones) marinated in olive oil and cooked on the spot with sauce chien (dog sauce) and creole rice or tabbouleh
• Dessert: flambéed bananas in rum

You will then go to a little creek during a short boat trip, where a coffee break awaits you. You will be able to go snorkeling in the creek during the break, with masks and snorkel provided by the crew.

You will get back on the boat for one last trip which will take you to the Ilet du Vieux Fort for one last dip.

• Discovery of the Ilet du Vieux Fort and swim
• Return to Saint-François at around 17:00

Go to the Quai17 terrace at 7:30 to pay for the service and then proceed to boarding.
