Traditional fishing - Grand Cul de Sac Marin

Discover the mangrove, the islets of the grand cul-de-sac, go fishing and lift up a trap, and even go for a swim if you wish. Activity details

During this trip, Marcus will take time to explain the different species of plants and animals that inhabit the mangrove around the canal des Rotours in detail. He will even let you go with the thousands of crabs that have chosen to live there.

You will then head for the wonderful bay that opens up the doors to the grand cul-de-sac marin’s lagoon. From there, you will be able to discover the ilet Macou and its little chapel, the ilet aux oiseaux, and, depending on the weather and your preferences, the ilet Fajou or you can go to Port Louis.

The main agenda: fishing and lifting the trap in the traditional way that the local fishermen do it. No fishing rods here, just the fisherman’s know-how and experience, good hooks, and rolls of fishing wire to get the small and big fish on the boat to the delight of the entire family.

You want to swim, look for starfish, discover the isolated beaches, or go snorkeling in the coral reef. No problem, Marcus is the man for the job to make sure you don’t forget your morning at the heart of one of Guadeloupe’s most beautiful ecosystems.
