Half-day tour of the mangroves, islets and snorkelling

Set off on an adventure to explore the unspoilt natural beauty of the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin. Discover the mangrove forest, dive into various snorkelling spots and relax amidst the scenery of the unspoilt islets. Enjoy a fun-filled day combining underwater exploration with refreshing swims.

This half-day adventure begins with a tour of the mangrove forest and its fascinating ecosystem. Accompanied by a guide who knows the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin well, you’ll be treated to an engaging tour of the reserve, punctuated by explanations of the unique features of each site you visit. You’ll then head to Îlet la Biche, one of the most beautiful islets in the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin, for a swim followed by a snack with your feet in the water. You’ll continue on to Îlet Caret, another iconic destination, to enjoy a white sandy beach near the coral reef. You’ll then visit various spots within the reserve that the guide has specially chosen for their crystal-clear waters and underwater biodiversity. First, you’ll head to the shipwreck, a veritable underwater aquarium where several species of fish have made their home in the hull of this vessel lying just a few centimetres below the surface. You’ll then head to the spot known as ‘Étoile de mer’ and finally to the coral reef at Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin, where you’ll also be able to admire the full diversity of the underwater wildlife. The final part of the excursion will be devoted to observing the various species of birds that nest or stop off at Îlet Blanc and in the surrounding vegetation. After taking plenty of photos and enjoying a final swim, you’ll return to Sainte-Rose following an excursion packed with discoveries and activities.
