Gwadaventure – Half-day Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin tour

Enjoy a relaxing half-day trip to the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin lagoon with Gwadaventure: a tour of the mangrove swamp and the bird islet, an exploration of the shipwreck and the coral reef, not to mention the unmissable swim at Caret Islet and in the ‘blue pool’.

Meet at the port of Sainte-Rose, at the Gwadaventure ticket office opposite the restaurant L’Authentique (meet at 8.30 am or 1 pm for a departure 15 minutes later). The first stop is a tour of the mangrove swamp to learn more about its ecosystem, a key breeding ground for coral reef fish: you’ll spot the famous red mangroves, ciric crabs and fiddler crabs, and sometimes even stingrays. The adventure continues at the shipwreck, a dive site lying at a depth of 3 metres, perfect for snorkelling, where you can swim amongst a variety of colourful fish – surgeonfish, parrotfish, ‘four-eyed’ butterflyfish – not to mention Brazilian spiny lobsters and, occasionally, a turtle. Your guide will then take you snorkelling at the coral reef, before heading to Caret Islet, a magnificent yet endangered islet, where you can swim in its turquoise waters. You can enjoy a delicious planteur or a fruit juice with your feet in the water by the Blue Pool, the next stop on the excursion. The programme ends with a stop at Îlet Blanc.
