Tour and snorkelling in the Cousteau Reserve on a glass-bottomed boat

With its glass-bottomed hull submerged 1.5 metres below the water’s surface, this boat is specially designed to give you a unique view of the beauty of the seabed in the Cousteau Reserve. Setting off from Malendure Beach, a lovely 1 hour 15 minute trip awaits you, with the added bonus of a swim – diving off the boat’s slide – and a planteur served on board.

This wonderful adventure begins at the jetty on Malendure Beach. There are four departures a day: at 10.30 am, 12 noon, 2.30 pm and 4 pm. Once you’ve boarded the boat, you’ll be surprised by just how spacious it is. Measuring 18 metres long, 5.5 metres wide and featuring two decks, it can accommodate up to 97 passengers! First, we’ll set course for the Cousteau Reserve, which is just a five-minute boat ride away. Once there, it’s time to head down to the lower deck of the boat so the magic can begin. Situated 1.5 metres below the water’s surface, this specially designed space offers a stunning view of the beauty and riches of the reserve’s seabed. Once you’ve had your fill of wonder, you can head up to the sun deck on the upper deck and have a quick sunbathe whilst waiting to move on to the second stage of the trip. During the second half of the excursion, it’s swimming time for everyone! The boat will stop for 30 minutes in an area where the water is particularly clear and warm. Grab your masks, flippers and snorkels (not provided during the Covid period) to get even closer to the underwater ecosystem. And for those looking for a bit more of a thrill, the slide at the back of the boat is sure to delight you – and the little ones too. Throughout this 1 hour 15-minute trip, there’ll be a great atmosphere: the crew will play some great music and will be delighted to treat you to a planteur at the end of the excursion. The younger guests won’t be left out either, as a non-alcoholic version will also be available.
