The experience

Faider, a young skipper from Sainte Rose, knows all the secrets of the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin better than anyone else. Having cut his teeth as a trap fisherman, he’ll make it his mission to show you the finest specimens of rays and coral fish in the lagoon. With his brand-new excursion boat, Faider offers an in-depth tour of the mangroves and the fine-sand islets.

The excursion offered by Faider is tailored to the weather and sea conditions, the time of year, the day of the week and the group on each trip. You’ll be able to make the most of the islets in the Grand Cul-de-Sac that can be visited during this action-packed day: Ilet Caret, as well as an explanation of the mangrove forest as only he can provide… The main aim is for you to have one of the best experiences of your holiday, and to that end, he will take you to where you can enjoy the most beautiful views and the finest examples of marine life in the area. An expert on stingrays and other tropical fish, he’ll be delighted to introduce you to them – if not the turtles or dolphins, which are unfortunately rarer, though he can spot them from a distance when one happens to be in his wake. You can trust him to take you to the best spots, depending on sea conditions, for a swim with fins, mask and snorkel (shipwrecks and/or the area known as ‘La Piscine’ and/or other secret spots he knows on the coral reef – snorkelling equipment not provided). As for the food, Doudou Julie will prepare a sumptuous aperitif for you, featuring homemade fruit juice, planteur, local crisps and fresh fruit, followed by a meal on board the boat consisting of a starter of raw vegetables, smoked chicken and Creole rice as the main course, and coconut flan for dessert.

    Meet at Le Gosier Marina
  2. 07:45

  4. Snorkelling at the shipwreck
