The experience

Set off in a 4x4 with Marc, your guide, for a day of exploration in Guadeloupe. Choose between a tour of Grande-Terre or Basse-Terre. Discover the tropical forest, the magnificent rivers, the natural pools and their waterfalls.

Grande-Terre 4x4 excursion&&

Departing from your hotel from 7.45 am, depending on where you’re staying, set off to discover one of Guadeloupe’s top tourist attractions, the Pointe des Châteaux. From the top, you’ll admire the surrounding islands, particularly La Désirade. An exceptional panoramic view – don’t forget to take plenty of photos. Along the way, you’ll be delighted by the craft shops. Between Saint-François and Le Moule, your guide will take you to discover the wild yet magnificent coastline: Plage de l’Autre Bord, Anse Salabouelle, La Cuve and Anse à l’Eau. Later in the morning, you’ll visit the internationally renowned Damoiseau distillery. A tasting is a must! You’ll stop for lunch at a cosy, welcoming traditional restaurant – a real highlight of your day. In the early afternoon, it’s time to relax a little at Anse du Souffleur beach. You’ll be able to go for a swim and enjoy the stunning setting. On the way back, you’ll stop off at the ‘domino’ cemetery in Morne-à-l’Eau. One of Guadeloupe’s most famous and distinctive attractions. Return via the Grands Fonds, which offers spectacular and impressive scenery – an unbroken succession of hills and deep ravines. Arrival at your hotel around 5 pm, tired but satisfied after a wonderful day.

North Basse-Terre 4x4 Excursion&&

Departure from hotels between 7.45 am and 8.45 am. After passing through the capital, Pointe-à-Pitre, head towards Northern Basse-Terre to discover sugar cane cultivation in the commune of Le Lamentin. In this region, you’ll be able to admire a few pineapple plantations, as well as various types of bananas and different fruits depending on the season (guava, mombins, passion fruit, etc.). At the northern tip of Basse-Terre, Sainte-Rose awaits to reveal its charming, traditional little fishing harbour overlooking the Grand Cul de Sac Marin. You’ll travel along the leeward coast, on the Caribbean Sea side. The pirates are waiting for you… Late in the morning, you’ll stop off at one of Guadeloupe’s most beautiful beaches, Grande Anse in Deshaies. A wonderful spot for a swim and a rest. Get your cameras out – it’s magnificent. You’ll then have lunch at a traditional restaurant where you can sample local specialities. In the afternoon, you’ll visit either the Saut d’Acomat or the Cascade aux Ecrevisses. You’ll find yourself right in the heart of the tropical rainforest. Enjoy the splendour of the surroundings, with waterfalls and natural hot springs. Return via the stunning coastal road. Arrival back at your hotels around 4.00 pm or 5.00 pm.

South Basse-Terre 4x4 Tour&&

Departure from hotels between 7.45 am and 8.45 am. You’ll set off to explore the various crops around Petit-Bourg and Goyave. You’ll visit the Longueteau or Montebello distilleries, the oldest on the island. Photo stop at the Shangy Indian temple. You’ll then discover Guadeloupe’s ‘Kassaverie’ and have the chance to taste this 100% Gwada sandwich. At midday, lunch will be served in a traditional restaurant. In the afternoon, head to Anse Duquery for a photo stop, followed by a visit to the Coulisse River for a swim surrounded by nature. Next, head to the Roche de la Nativité for a journey back in time in the footsteps of the Amerindians. Return to the hotels around 4–5 pm.
