Caret Islet and Fajou Islet by motor catamaran

Come aboard this magnificent, newly refurbished 11-metre catamaran with a crew of two (skipper and cook). With just 12 passengers, you’ll enjoy plenty of space spread over two decks, featuring shaded areas and breathtaking views of Caret Islet and the Fajou Islet nature reserve (one of the few boats authorised to visit the area). Snorkelling on the coral reef, 5-star dining. Guaranteed fun for the whole family.

Departure is from Gosier Marina at 8.00 am (meet at 7.45 am). You’ll travel up the Salée River to reach the Grand Cul de Sac Marin lagoon. You’ll then discover the mangrove and its complex ecosystem. Passing by Îlet Fajou (a nature reserve). First stop at Îlet Caret for a swim, a tiny patch of white sand. Appearing out of nowhere as a result of the combined effects of decomposing dead coral, ocean currents, tectonic movements and the action of the wind and sea… this islet is destined to disappear… So it’s definitely worth a visit! Around midday, we’ll stop off near Caret Islet for a swim. You’ll be offered Ti-Punch, homemade Planteur and fruit juices. Then, your exploration of the Grand Cul de Sac Marin will continue with a stop near Fajou Islet, where you’ll enjoy a meal of fish and chicken cooked on the spot. Your lunch will be served in the shade of the awning on the boat by your crew. It will be accompanied by raw vegetables and rice, with fresh seasonal fruit for dessert. The afternoon is set aside for swimming, observing the local flora and fauna, and simply relaxing… You’ll be able to appreciate the full richness of the biodiversity, with countless species of tropical fish, turtles (occasionally), rays, starfish… Return to Gosier to the rhythm of Caribbean music, scheduled for around 5 pm.
