Ilet Caret + La Biche or Pointe Sable – A day out in a small group
The experience
The specialist in day trips to Caret by speedboat. All-inclusive package departing from Saint-François, Sainte-Anne and Gosier. All-inclusive package including a guide to the Grand Cul de Sac Marin and fresh fish prepared and cooked in-house.
Caret Islet is an uninhabited islet situated in the Grand Cul de Sac Marin, approximately 250 metres long and around 20 metres wide on average. It was formed by underwater movements caused partly by earthquakes, as well as by the action of the wind and the sea. Every year, the islet changes shape, and some sandbanks disappear to be replaced by new ones. The excursion begins as soon as you disembark, with a walk along the coast. Among other sights, you’ll see the cliffs of Sainte-Anne, Petit Havre beach, the ‘Diamond Rock’ at Mare Gaillard, Gosier Islet and the large bay at Fort Fleur d’Épée. You’ll enter the small marine cove via the Salée River, where you’ll discover the mangrove forest. A walk along the coral reef and/or the shipwreck will take you to Fajou Islet, where you’ll have the chance to go snorkelling using the equipment provided on board. Lunch break and a visit to La Biche Islet or the magnificent Pointe Sable beach.
This 5-star meal includes:
- Starters: ceviche (fresh fish tartare marinated in limes) and raw vegetables;
- Main course: fresh fish fillet (boneless) or grilled chicken cooked on site, served with ‘sauce chien’ and tabbouleh;
