Half-day Canyoning Adventure

For those who are curious, sporty and adventurous, discover Basse Terre whilst having fun in complete safety and live out the Jane and Tarzan experience! Basse Terre is a true wonderland of waterfalls and lush greenery: experience the adventure of the tropical forest and enjoy our rivers and natural slides for exhilarating jumps and abseils. Contemplation, rest and relaxation are also on the programme. Meet at 8.20 am at our premises in Saint-Claude for registration and to collect your kit (wetsuit, helmet, etc.). We’ll set off at 8.30 am for one of two sites, depending on the weather and your ability (total duration: 5 hours): Ravine Chaude (Bassin Bleu car park) or Cascade Vauchelet (departing from Saint-Claude). After a 40-minute approach walk through the forest, there will be 5 to 6 abseils, as well as jumps and slides, before returning to the sales office at around 2.00 pm. Cascade Vauchelet (very advanced level): a full 5-hour immersion in tropical vegetation, with no fewer than 6 abseils in one of the island’s most beautiful canyons, for an unforgettable, exhilarating experience. Ravine Chaude (intermediate level): south of Basse-Terre, on the edge of Guadeloupe National Park, a river featuring five abseils – the highest of which is 15 metres – followed by fun jumps and slides. As the river has a low flow, the hike remains accessible even in wet weather. The activity is open to everyone, from beginners to experienced participants, and is supervised by a team of mountain professionals in a friendly, sporty atmosphere. Minimum age for children: 12 years.
