Take a return trip from Pointe-à-Pitre – Marie-Galante by high-speed ferry every day of the week to visit the ‘Island of 100 Mills’. Discover its charming villages, its wonderful beaches and, of course, all the activity centred around sugar cane, which sets the island’s pace. Pop into one of its many distilleries to sample the finest agricultural rum in the West Indies. Meet at ticket office B at the Bergevin ferry terminal in Pointe-à-Pitre. Due to enhanced safety and social distancing measures, we ask passengers to arrive at the ticket counter 1 hour before departure, i.e. 7.15 am for an 8.15 am departure.
After a crossing of around 45 minutes, you will reach Grand-Bourg on Marie-Galante. Scheduled arrival at 9.00 am. To plan your day, we recommend visiting the tourist information office located a short distance from the landing stage, where you’ll find all the information you need to organise a wonderful day exploring the area. Very close to the landing stage, you’ll also find companies hiring out cars, 4x4s and scooters.
You’ll have 7 hours to visit the Habitation Murat on the outskirts of the village, followed by a rum tasting at one of the island’s three distilleries (Père Labat, Bielle or Bellevue) and finally relax on one of the island’s most beautiful beaches. We particularly recommend Anse Canot, Anse de Mays or the magnificent Feuillère beach at Capesterre-de-Marie-Galante. We recommend being back by 3.30 pm at the latest, at the same spot as in the morning, for boarding and departure at 4.00 pm.
