Guided tour of La Soufrière + Minibus transfer

Discover La Soufrière on a unique day out. A 5- to 6-hour hike at your own pace, with a 500-metre climb. At the summit, you’ll find the crater and breathtaking views of the sea and the islands. Enjoy a relaxing swim in the 29°C waters at Les Bains Jaunes at the foot of the volcano, with sandwiches and energy breaks included. Marc, your guide, will collect you by minibus from Saint-François, Sainte-Anne, Gosier or Baie-Mahault to take you on a tour of Guadeloupe’s volcano: La Soufrière. This full-day hike is suitable for experienced walkers. Expect a 5- to 6-hour walk with a 500-metre elevation gain up the volcano’s slopes. Refreshment breaks featuring cassava are planned, as well as a sandwich at lunchtime and water supplies. It’s a real pleasure to climb the volcano’s slopes in the early morning. At the very top, the smell of sulphur is overwhelming, as are the yellow fumaroles. The breathtaking view of the sea and the surrounding islands is a feast for the eyes, set against a backdrop of raw, magnificent natural beauty. Exploring the crater is fascinating and highly informative. You will then make your way down at your own pace, and can reward yourself for your efforts with a soak in sulphurous hot springs at 29°. Les Bains Jaunes welcomes you to relax your muscles and enjoy this wonderful experience. Return to Saint-François scheduled for around 4 pm. Recommended minimum age: 12 years (younger children may participate if motivated or used to walking, but no younger than 7 years). Minimum of 4 people, 8-seater minibus.
