Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of the island and its wildlife, he’ll guide you with enthusiasm during the tour and snorkelling session, whilst ensuring the site is treated with respect. Your half-day trip to Petite Terre begins at the Saint-François marina at 7.00 am, where Joël will welcome you for a scheduled departure at 7.15 am. A local sailor from Désirade and, above all, a former nature reserve ranger, Joël knows Petite Terre inside out. His experience and in-depth knowledge of the area make this trip a unique opportunity to appreciate the richness of this protected site.
You’ll board his modern, comfortable boat – fresh from the shipyard – designed for a fast and enjoyable journey. In around 45 minutes, you’ll reach Petite Terre in excellent conditions.
On arrival, Joël will outline the morning’s programme before offering you, depending on your preferences, a swim in the lagoon or a guided tour lasting around 40 minutes. Drawing on his experience as a park ranger, he’ll share detailed and fascinating insights into the local wildlife, iguanas, seabirds, flora, the island’s geology and how the reserve operates.
There’s nothing quite like visiting Petite Terre with someone who has helped protect it for years.
After this exploration, you’ll have some free time to go snorkelling and encounter the turtles, lemon sharks, rays and tropical fish in the lagoon.
At around 10.30 am, Joël will serve you a light snack on board: fresh fruit, fruit juice, planteur or ti-punch. It’s a chance to savour one last moment overlooking the lagoon before setting off.
You’ll board the boat at around 11.15 am, then head towards Saint-François, arriving at around 12.30 pm.

Demi-journée mémorable en compagnie de Katia et Joël! Super commandant, super skipper et endroits magiques que nous avons eu la chance de découvrir avec des explications! Nous les recommandons les yeux fermés, car: c’est un Désiradien, le meilleur :-)!
Formidable excursion à petite terre. L'équipage formé de Joel et sa fille sont hyper professionnels et adorables. Malgré quelques vagues sur le trajet, nous avons passé une matinée formidable. Merci à eux pour ce moment qui restera un moment fort de notre séjour en Guadeloupe.
